Golf Course Report - August 2008
We are all happy to see the completion of the reconstruction project at Carrying Place. The new holes have received favourable reviews, however our work is not completed. We now have to concentrate on the finishing touches. Cart path paving, curbing and tree planting, are projects that will on going. Most importantly, I now want to concentrate on playing conditions. Bunker sand replacement on the back nine has already begun. Due to the fact that most of the golf course has been sodded, aggressive cultural practices are necessary. Aerating of greens, tees, fairways and roughs should be done at every opportunity for the next few years. Green speeds will gradually increase as the newer greens mature.
